There are much better (and cheaper) options. Magellan has one of the worst speaker systems in the business, and the software itself isn't that great. (read the so many negative reviews on majellan gps products) So download one of the cheaper navigational iphone apps and velcro your phone to the dashboard. That's what I did, and it works great. I paid a one time fee of $19.99 (won't mention the brand because that's not what this review is for) for the software (one time) and about a nickel's worth of velcro.

I'd probably rate with 3-4 stars if it was priced more reasonably. Further, I've dealt with magellan regarding their very old and outdated mapping on a previous unit I've used - and in my opinion have the worst customer service in the electronics industry! They seemingly just don't care and have very little pride in their work.

I love my new Magellan car kit for iphone.At first I was not sure about getting it for my iphone, but after viewing some demo videos online I realized it was a must have for me. Went to magellan to order it and was recommended to autonavdirect and got it from them very quickly. If you have an iphone with the roadmate app, get the car kit and you will not be disappointed. Great design and really enhances my iphone.

This unit make the iPhone completely useable in a vehicle, finally. The unit itself is well designed and made. I bought the Magellan Navigation App and it's the best of any GPS I've owned. This is one unit that someone put a lot of Apple-quality engineering and thought into. A great addition.
